If Unite (Amicus) Westminster Branch could only affiliate to one
organisation it would be the LRD. The information provided by in LRD
booklets is an indespensable tool for workplace reps to know their own
and members' rights. Information is power and the LRD booklets provide
clear, simple and accurate information. The booklets and Enquiry Service
are easily and quickly accessible.

If there was one decision I wish we as a branch could have over again
that would be to affiliate to LRD earlier. The information that LRD
gives is really second to none, and vast. I can't praise them enough,
try them, affiliate and make your life so much easier, it's the best
investment this Branch has made.

On a personal level both myself and the Branch Chair embarked on a
year’s Certificate in Employment Law course where we have had to submit
to date two written assignments. The LRD has been invaluable to us in
our research of this course work; we chose different subjects and so
quite diverse in the information we needed, but thanks to the LRD
regular publications, we have so far been successful in our projects. I
would recommend individual affiliation to all my colleagues in the Union
movement, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do so a long time ago - it is so
worthwhile.
