PCS elections

Balloting is under way in the PCS public and commercial services union for a general secretary to succeed Mark Serwotka who is retiring in the new year.

The union has confirmed that its 190,000 members will be asked to choose between two candidates — Fran Heathcote, nominated by 90 branches, and Marian Lloyd, nominated by 80.

There will be a simultaneous election for assistant general secretary, where members have a choice between current incumbent John Moloney and Paul O’Connor. The ballot closes on 14 December.
