Minute’s silence marks IWMD

International Workers’ Memorial Day was widely observed this Tuesday (April 28th), after unions’ calls for it to be marked with a minute’s silence were taken up by the UK government. Around the country work halted and people went quiet in memory of those who have lost their lives from Covid-19, especially those key workers who have helped treat, protect and serve the rest of society during the global pandemic.

• The TUC has announced a social media campaign to #ThankAWorker on May Day.
