LRD releases 2020 pay survey

LRD’s annual report on pay is available now, and is free to view.

Covering the period from August 2019 to July 2020, the exhaustive survey analyses over 700 pay settlements – less than previously due to delays in negotiations because of Covid-19 – and shows that overall the median pay increase was 2.5% - 2.55% on the lowest adult pay rate.

With many pay increases agreed before lockdown the full effect of the pandemic is still emerging. In some hard-hit sectors such as aviation and the performing arts, previously agreed pay increases have been cancelled and, in some cases pay cuts have taken place.
