UNISON election

The election for the leader of public services union UNISON, which commences later this month, will be a three-cornered contest. The candidates are Roger Bannister, secretary of the Knowsley branch, Hillingdon hospital striker Malkiat Bilku of London Regional Branch and the current deputy general secretary of UNISON, Dave Prentis.

The ballot of the union's 1.3 million members takes place between 21 January and 18 February and the result will be announced on 28 February.
