Employers ignore driving risks

More than half of all workers who drive as part of their work say they have never had any information or training from their employers about the risks they face on the road, according to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).

A survey carried out by the IAM also found that 75% of employers had not carried out risk assessments or organised training, and 70% had not offered medical check-ups – with 64% not offering even a basic eyesight test.

And 24% of workers said their firm had no policy at all on using mobile phones.
