Compensation payments

The amounts that can be awarded in employment compensation claims went up on 1 February 2001. All new redundancy claims will be based on the weeks' pay maximum of pst240, instead of the previous pst230. The maximum amount that can be awarded in unfair dismissal claims rises to pst51,700 from pst50,000, while the maximum daily rate of guarantee pay (where employees are temporarily laid off) has gone up to pst16.70.
