Inflation stays steady

Latest figures from the Office for National Statistics for February show the headline rate of inflation remaining at 2.7%, unchanged since January.

However, the annual rate excluding mortgage interest payments rose from 1.8% to 1.9%. The main reason for the increase was price changes for petrol, oil and motor insurance. There were small upwards effects recorded for leisure and household goods.
