NHS management

The Unite general union has condemned plans to install private sector managers in “failing” hospitals. Health services minister Ben Bradshaw announced these measures on 4 June, including the possible replacement of local management by managers from other parts of the NHS.

Karen Reay, Unite national officer, said: “These changes do not address the underlying problems facing the NHS and there is no evidence that the private sector could do a better job.”
