Wales TUC

The Wales TUC has elected its first black president and the youngest person ever to hold the post. Vaughan Gething, aged 34, is a member of the GMB general union and a partner at Thompsons Solicitors.

Gething said the unions had “gone from strength to strength in recent years”, but they “still have to face up to the organising and recruitment challenge as the economy has changed”.

May saw the resignation of the Wales TUC secretary, Felicity Williams, after an investigation into claims of bullying and financial issues.
