Unions supported

Fewer than one in five workers feel that “unions have no future in modern Britain” as presented by some commentators, according to a poll.

A survey of over 2,000 working people carried out by YouGov for the recent Unions 21 conference found that under a fifth (19%) agreed with the statement while 46% disagreed.

The research found that unions or the TUC were the most likely source for employment advice for workers aged 45-54.

However, those aged 18-24 were most likely to seek advice from parents, friends or the internet.
