Leadership elections

Matt Wrack has been re-elected general secretary of the Fire Brigades Union in a two-horse race. He secured 61% of the vote against 39% for challenger John McGhee in a 24% turnout.

Meanwhile, members of public services union UNISON are currently choosing who will be their general secretary. The candidates are current incumbent Dave Prentis and challengers Roger Bannister, secretary of the Knowsley branch, and Paul Holmes, secretary of the Kirklees local government branch. The result is due on 22 June.
