Inflation rise slows yet again

Inflation eased as furnishing prices and mobile phone charges fell. Under the Retail Prices Index (RPI), the rate of inflation was 4.7% in August, against 4.8% the previous month. It was the fourth consecutive monthly fall.

The Consumer Prices Index, which excludes housing costs, had inflation steady at 3.1% in August.
