Fuel prices help to lower inflation

Lower gas and electricity prices helped push inflation down. Under the Retail Prices Index (RPI), the annual rate of inflation was down to 3.7% in February from 3.9% the previous month.

Under the measure used by the government — the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) — inflation fell to 3.4% last month from 3.6% in January, according to the Office for National Statistics.
