Unite and the EU

The Labour Party has been urged by its largest affiliate, general union Unite, to hold a referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU.

Delegates at the union’s policy conference last month approved an executive council statement saying that, if Labour denied the British people that opportunity, “it would be an election millstone for the party at next May’s general election”.
