BACM merger

BACM-TEAM, the union representing 1,900 managerial and professional staff in the mining industry, looks set to disappear within three months.

Members are to be balloted this month on transferring engagements to the much larger Prospect union for managers and specialists.

The ballot follows a special conference on the topic last month.

If two-thirds of the members agree, the transfer will become effective from 1 November 2014.
