BALPA looks to take on Ryanair

The BALPA airline pilots’ union is seeking views among Ryanair agency pilots about whether they would support a group legal action to establish employee or worker rights.

General secretary Brian Strutton said: “Many pilots who fly for Ryanair are not in fact employed by them but are agency workers, supplied through several different third-, or even fourth-party companies.

The union is also asking all Ryanair pilots whether they would support industrial action to deal with their “growing dissatisfaction with the company”.
