RPI inflation edges down

The upward trend in retail price inflation may have ended. In November, the annual rate of inflation under the Retail Prices Index (RPI) edged down to 3.9% from 4.0% the previous month. 


Inflation under the Consumer Prices Index Housing (CPIH) — now the government’s preferred measure — was steady at 2.8% in November.


The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) posted an increase of 3.1% in November.
