Cheaper food cuts inflation

Lower food prices offset dearer petrol and oil to cut inflation. Under the Retail Prices Index, inflation was down to 3.3% in September from 3.5% the previous month. Under the Consumer Prices Index Housing (CPIH) measure, the inflation rate was cut to 2.2% from 2.4%.


Meanwhile, the inflation rate under the Consumer Prices Index Earnings was down to 2.4% from 2.7%.
