Pharmacists’ union

The PDAU pharmacists’ union, which recently won its epic battle to gain recognition by chemist chain Boots, has now signed a formal agreement with the company providing for both collective bargaining and consultation on a range of issues for Boots pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists.

The deal means that the union will immediately be bargaining over the 2019-20 annual pay review. It also provides for the structure of union representation in the company and establishes a joint consultative committee, which all reps will attend, to deal with specified areas outside the core pay, hours and holidays negotiations.

PDAU assistant general secretary Mark Pitt said: “Our objective is to work with Boots UK to create a positive employee relations environment, where the voice of pharmacists is heard, and our members are able to contribute to the business as respected health professionals.”
