Inflation falls again

The annual inflation rate under the Retail Prices Index (RPI) fell for the fifth consecutive month. In October, RPI inflation was 2.1% against the 2.4% increase for September. Cheaper gas bills were partially offset by higher clothing prices.

Inflation, under both the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) and CPIH, which includes housing costs, was down to 1.5% from 1.7% in September, according to the Office for National Statistics.
