RPI inflation steadies

Retail price inflation steadied at the end of 2019. In December, the annual rate of inflation under the Retail Prices Index (RPI) was 2.2% — the same increase as for November.


Inflation under the Consumer Prices Index Housing (CPIH), which includes housing costs, was cut to 1.4% from 1.5%, while the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) was down to 1.3% from 1.5%, according to the Office for National Statistics.
