General secretaries


Matt Wrack has been re-elected as general secretary of the 32,000-strong Fire Brigades Union for a fourth term. He took 67% of the vote in a two-horse race, the other candidate being Sean Starbuck.


Meanwhile, Dave Ward has been re-elected unopposed as general secretary of the CWU communications union to serve for another five years. The union’s deputy general secretary and two assistant secretaries were also elected unopposed.
