Shops ban dodgy insecticide

The insecticide lindane has been banned from a series of retail chains including Boots, Homebase and B&Q, following pressure from the Ban Lindane Campaign, according to public services union UNISON, a leading participant in the campaign. The chemical, which is banned in 18 countries including Germany and Holland, has been linked with breast cancer and damage to the immune system.
