Tribunals plans to go ahead

The government is to go ahead with plans that could result in a further restriction on access to employment tribunals. It has accepted the recommendations of a taskforce on employment tribunals set up at the end of 2001. This includes a suggestion that some legislation should be replaced by voluntary codes, which would encourage employers to meet minimum standards.

The government says that it will work with the advisory service ACAS and the Employment Tribunals Service on how to implement all of the proposals.
