Inflation is unchanged at 3.2%

Inflation remained unchanged in April at 3.2% for the fourth consecutive month. Higher petrol prices and motor insurance premiums offset slower price increases for household goods such as furniture.

The government's preferred inflation target - the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), which excludes housing costs - was steady at 1.9%.
