Time sheets doctored to allow longer hours

T&G transport union safety reps have discovered evidence that managers at distribution firm DHL Exel in Redditch deliberately changed drivers' timesheets without their knowledge.

Changes were made in red ink to the timesheets of eight of the depot's 40 drivers, to show them as being on a "period of availability" instead of driving. This meant that those hours would not count towards their legal maximum working hours.

DHL Exel has acknowledged that the changes took place.
