Use the law to tackle violence, says UNISON

Public services union UNISON has issued guidelines for its members in Scotland explaining how they can make use of the law to prevent assaults, convict offenders and sue employers for compensation.

“While compensation and prosecution claims don't by themselves prevent the violence, there is considerable evidence that the threat of claims has reduced the incidence of abuse,” explained UNISON Scottish organiser Dave Watson.
