Inflation adjustment at Siemens

Staff at Siemens SIS (formerly part of BBC technology) have secured an improvement in the second year of their two-year pay deal, following a ballot for industrial action. Last year’s pay agreement provided for an initial increase of 4% and a rise of 2.15% this year. It had been understood by broadcasting union BECTU that talks would re-open if this fell short of the inflation rate in January. The 2008 pay rise has now been boosted to 3% by the addition of an extra 0.85% for the September to December period.
