Blacklisting to be outlawed

Following pressure from unions, the government has agreed to ban the use of blacklists by companies following the exposure of blacklisting in major construction companies (see Workplace Report, March 2009, p. 4). The new regulations will be introduced under the Employment Relations Act 1999, following a consultation in the summer. The move has been welcomed by unions.
