Police payments ruling

The independent Police Arbitration Tribunal has ruled in favour of on-call payments for police who are on standby to be recalled to duty in their time off.

The tribunal has left the details of payments to be negotiated between the staff side and employers. The Police Federation welcomed the ruling, saying it recognised inconsistencies and would compensate officers for disruption to their home lives.
