Teachers’ compensation

Teachers’ union NASUWT secured more than £8.7 million in compensation in 2009 for teachers who faced discrimination, unfair dismissal, unlawful deduction of wages or personal injury. Chris Keates, NASUWT general secretary, said: “Many of the claims could have been avoided if employers abided by their statutory duties and responsibilities.”
