New incentive scheme at David Brown

A new operational performance incentive scheme was introduced as part of a two year pay deal effective from 1 February at David Brown Defence Equipment in Lockwood near Huddersfield. The new scheme pays an additional 0.75% of base earnings for achieving target customer service levels (previous bonus schemes apart from the Net Operating Profit scheme are withdrawn). Basic rates of pay increased by 2.7% in the first year of the agreement and, with the new bonus, total earnings potential increased by 3.45%. In the second year, rates of pay will be increased in line with inflation (the three months average headline rate published in November 2001, December 2001 and January 2002).
