NHS pay in 2017-18

A uniform 1% increase should apply to all NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) staff groups in 2017-18, the Health Department for England (HDE) has proposed. Pay restraint will help with “transformational changes” and discussions on contractual reform are ongoing. Inflation remains “very low”, it argues, and just over half of the AfC workforce will have an annual incremental pay increase of around 3% on average. There could be a more “targeted” pay rise for 2018-19.
