Settlements edge higher

In the three months to November, LRD Payline’s midpoint increase on the lowest basic rate in collectively agreed pay settlements in the whole economy was up to 2.1% from the previous figure of 2.0%.

The engine of the increase was the private sector where the midpoint rise was up to 2.5% from 2.2%.

For the public sector, however, the midpoint rise was back down to 1.0% from 2.0%.

If the standard increase is used, the overall midpoint rise was 2.0%.

With the RPI inflation rising by 2.2% in November, it’s a struggle to keep place with the cost of living.
