Pay and prices

Deals stick at 3.0%


Crunching the numbers on LRD Payline database shows that over the past year collectively agreed deals peaked at 3.2% in December and since then the midpoint figure (median) has been stuck at 3.0%.


The standard increase for March — the increase received by most grades — was also 3.0%.


In the 2017-18 pay round so far, the midpoint rise for deals is 2.8%, but 3.0% in the private sector.


In February, official earnings data shows that growth in the three-monthly rate for regular pay in the whole economy was up to 2.8% from 2.6%.
