Škoda — 12% rise

Czech metalworking union OS KOVO has accepted the latest pay offer from the car maker Škoda, part of the Volkswagen group, which will result in pay rates increasing by 12%. The increase is back-dated to 1 April 2018 and the deal runs for 12 months. With inflation in the Czech Republic at just 1.7% (March), the deal is a major boost to the real earnings of the 32,000 or so workers at the company.
