Dutch construction deal

Unions and employers in the Netherlands have signed a new agreement for the construction industry. The deal runs for 21 months from 1 April 2018 until 31 December 2019. There is a 2.35% pay increase in August this year, around twice the current inflation rate of 1.2% (March) and a further 3.0% in July 2019.

The employers recognise that, with the industry growing after years of crisis, it is important to make it “attractive for young people, entrants from other industries and people who have left the construction and infrastructure sector in the past”.
