Action against Samsung

Health and safety, workers’ rights and environmental campaigners took part in a global day of action demanding electronics giant Samsung cleans up its act.

The May Day events included the delivery of petitions with more than 200,000 signatures calling on Samsung to name the dangerous chemicals its workers are using in the manufacture of its products and respect health, safety and human rights.

“Hundreds of thousands around the world call on Samsung to protect its workers from toxic exposures and to stop harassing those who speak out,” said the event organisers. “Workers and consumers have a right to know to know what chemicals are used in the production of electronics.”
