Healthy rise in settlements


There were no fireworks in November, but pay settlements posted a healthy increase.


In the three months to November, the overall median for collectively agreed settlements increased to 3.5% from the 3.2% rise the previous month.


The median rise for the private sector increased to 3.2% from 3.0%, while the in the public sector the increase was steady ay 3.5%.


Official earnings figures for the whole economy, excluding bonuses, showed a 3.5% annual increase for October — up from the revised increase for September of 3.1%.
