Gig economy guide

Public services union UNISON has published a guide on health and safety in the gig economy.

The guide contains advice on campaigning and organising in the sector and includes examples of how UNISON branches have met some of the challenges posed by gig economy working.

UNISON members are employed in the gig economy across sectors including health, social care, education, housing, catering and cleaning. The guide explains that they face the same health and safety hazards as permanent established staff, but the risks are magnified for a variety of reasons.
