Unions demand action on suicides

Coroners should treat deaths caused by incidents at work as work-related fatalities, says train drivers’ union Aslef general secretary Mick Whelan. His comments came after train driver Scott Walker, a father of four, killed himself just months after a pedestrian completed suicide in front of his train. Whelan said the union will campaign for incidents like this to be treated as being work-related.
