Ryanair deal in Germany

German pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit has signed its first deal with the low-cost airline Ryanair, following strike action earlier in the year. The settlement provides for pay increases for the around 450 German-based pilots for the period up to 2023, plus a pay restructuring that reduces the importance of variable elements.

Pilots will also now be considered as being employed in Germany rather than in Ireland, an important union demand.
