RMT victory on noise

Earlier this month, the RMT suspended indefinite industrial action by drivers on four London Underground lines after securing a victory over excessive track noise on the tube.

Drivers on the Jubilee, Central, Victoria and Northern lines were due to begin industrial action short of a strike with effect from 10 October. However, the union reported that tube bosses had agreed to a number of its demands, including speed restrictions to mitigate the noise impact and £10 million funding for remedial work to reduce noise levels.
