Safety critical jobs saved at Ormiston Academies Trust

Last month, the public services union UNISON welcomed a decision by the Ormiston Academies Trust to drop plans to cut up to 130 posts across its 38 schools in England. The union said it feared the move could put safety at risk. Jobs under threat included those responsible for fire safety checks, and carrying out checks to make sure buildings are safe and free from hazardous materials including asbestos.
