Supreme Court rejects Uber appeal

After a four-year legal battle the Supreme Court has ruled in favour of Uber drivers represented by the GMB, determining that they are not self-employed, but are workers entitled to workers’ rights including holiday pay, a guaranteed minimum wage and an entitlement to breaks. GMB national officer Mick Rix said: “GMB will now consult with our Uber driver members over their forthcoming compensation claim.”
