Rights to pay

Once their doctor certifies an employee as fit to return to work, the employee should be paid. The employer may want further medical checks before permitting a return to work but in the interim while waiting for these to take place, provided the employee is willing to work, there is a common law right to be paid (Beveridge v KLM [2000]).
