London allowance fixed

An employer who paid employees a fixed London allowance did not have the right unilaterally to reduce it, according to the Court of Appeal in the case of Hayes v Security and Facilities Division, The Times Law Reports, 26 April 2000. Lord Justice Peter Gibson said that the contracts clearly allowed for a fixed rate entitlement.
