Sickness benefit

The government appears to be planning to tighten up on entitlement to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP). It is setting up pilot studies in a number of towns where anyone who has been on SSP for six weeks will be required to see a personal advisor from the Benefits Agency. At the interview they will discuss how their needs can be assessed, so that they can be encouraged back into work.
