3% deal at Kraft Foods

Salaries for day and shift workers at Kraft Foods were increased by 3% with effect from 1 January 2002. Day workers work a 37-hour week while those on double days work 39.5 hours, permanent nights 38 hours, and three shift a combination of 38 and 39.5 hours. Salaries are highest for those on continental shifts where a three-on-three-off pattern is worked. On an individual basis, the agreement stipulates that overtime premia will apply only when 150 hours have been worked in the year (January to December). This restriction does not apply to those on the continental pattern.
